Job Description
Position Summary:

The Department of Art and Art History seeks to hire Adjunct Instructor(s) for Academic Year 2026-27 specializing in Graphic Design with a deep understanding and knowledge of typography and type design. The non-tenure track position(s) may include up to a full-time workload, consisting of a 4/4 teaching load, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate and department needs. This would be a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.

Brief Work Unit Description: The Art & Art History Department curriculum supports majors in Studio Art (BA, BFA, and MFA), Art History (BA), and Art Education (BFA). Concentrations include: Art Education, Art History, Drawing, Electronic Art, Fibers, Graphic Design, Colorado State University has a strong and on-going commitment to equality and diversity among students, faculty and staff.


Salary Range:

$46-$48,000, 9-month salary (prorated for part-time)


Essential Job Duties:
  • Course assignments will be based on department needs; may include Introduction to Graphic Design and Typography and Design Systems.
  • Service to the Art and Art History program.
  • Office Hours are required.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Check

Supervision:
  • Does not directly supervise.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master or MFA in Design in Art, Graphic Design, and/or similar disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • College-level teaching experience in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Design Thinking, Typography and Design Systems.
  • 2+ years professional experience in Graphic Design.
