Steam Program Advisor - Contractor (Grant Based)
Experience and Qualifications:
  1. Ten years of teaching or administrative experience required
  2. Level II Instructional Certification
  3. Knowledge of Research Based and Best Practice Programs
  4. Resume
  5. Clearances (self-paid)
  6. Drug Screening (self-paid)

Purpose of work - To improve educational outcomes for students in the STEAM program K-12.  This part-time STEAM Program Advisor will focus on developing community partnerships, implementing Project-Based Learning, convening monthly STEAM challenges, teacher support in curriculum and lesson planning.  This position will focus on the use of Project Based Learning along with ensuring the integration of best practices in literacy.  The advisor will obtain training, keep in communication with building administrators, visit classrooms, conduct observations, provide feedback, and share strategies for the curriculum and pacing guides.
  • Coordinates and conducts professional development for the staff (K-12) in the STEAM Academy program on project-based learning
  • Builds Collaborative relationships between the community and the STEAM program K-12
  • Arranges and conducts the quarterly Business Advisory Council meetings
  • Serves as the liaison between the K-8 and the 9-12 STEAM program
  • Assists teachers on a one-on-one basis and/or in small groups with the design of instructional activities that focus on project-based learning
  • Shares resources regarding innovative ideas
  • Supports the building principal in the STEAM initiative
