Job description

As an Associate Originator, you'll build relationships with producers and help connect agricultural supply with market opportunities. You'll learn how grain is sourced, marketed and moved through the supply chain while developing the commercial, relationship-building and business skills needed to grow territory at one of our rural elevators. As an Associate Originator you will:
  • Build and maintain relationships with producers via regular communication and on-farm visits
  • Learn how grain procurement strategies support customer demand and business objectives
  • Monitor local market conditions, crop trends and producer marketing opportunities
  • Develop skills to negotiate grain purchases and create solutions that meet customer needs
  • Utilize market information and data to support business decisions and identify growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with merchandising, logistics and operations teams to execute contracts and move commodities efficiently
  • Learn the fundamentals of risk management and how market factors impact profitability
  • Develop territory management and business development skills while building a producer network
  • Gain exposure to multiple areas of the business through developmental rotations and experiences

About the Pathways Development Program:
Scoular Pathways Program is a two-year development program that immerses new graduates in broad-based, accelerated learning, developed to drive profitability through diverse experiences, active networking, and ongoing education. Throughout the two-year program, the participants meet in-person at our three main corporate locations to network, hear from leaders in our organization and learn more about Scoular and the industry. At the end of the program, participants will have a deep understanding of Scoular's business and how to own what's possible.
