Job Description:
U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking a Safety Coordinator. The position will work 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing company safety policies and continuously monitor the workplace for hazardous safety and health conditions to maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct safety training within the department for all shifts including Daily Safety Huddles, Weekly Single Points, Monthly Safety Meeting and EHS Alerts.
  • Conduct regular safety and housekeeping audits within the department.
  • Discuss findings from audit with both Department Supervisor and Safety.
  • Work with Safety to ensure deficiencies are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Perform safety walks throughout the shift and observe performance of job tasks to ensure safe job procedures are being followed.
  • Counsel employees on safe job procedures when necessary.
  • Report observations to Safety.
  • Participation in New Hire Orientation.
  • Work with Supervisors on periodic reviews of JSA's, LOTO procedures and Hazard Analysis within the department
  • Provide input to Safety on improvements/additions to training for new hires/transferring employees.

Skills & Other Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Safety or Environmental related degrees is preferred.
  • 2-3 years manufacturing / industry experience, preferred
  • 3+ years of safety experience outlining and implementing programs regarding employee safety procedures, practices, and accident prevention in a heavy manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Graduate Safety Practitioner -BCSP Certified is preferred.
  • Current OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 Certified required.
  • Confined Space training required.
  • First Aid/CPR Trained required.
