Job description

Psychiatrist Position at Reynolds Memorial Hospital

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and WVU School of Medicine's Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry seek Psychiatrists (ranks available Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor) for Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV.

Candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. Successful candidate must have completed a psychiatry residency program and be board certified/eligible in psychiatry. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Reynolds Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit, acute-care community hospital and member of the West Virginia University Health System, licensed for 90 beds including a 20-bed Skilled Nursing Unit. As an extension of WVU Medicine, a full range of medical services keeps patients close to home while receiving quality care for cancer, cardiac and pulmonary disease, orthopedic conditions, psychiatry services, and much more. Reynolds continues to add and expand services.

The Behavioral Health Unit is a 25 acute bed facility. This unit is designed to meet the acute mental health needs of patients ages 18 and above. Both voluntary and involuntary patients are accepted. Comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs are followed by treatment plans including cognitive and educational activities; group and individual therapy; psychiatric evaluation, prevention, diagnosis and treatment; and 24-hour nursing care.

Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry see patients ages 5 years or older in our new outpatient clinic. Available services include outpatient therapy, medication management, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs.

The Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry is part of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. The RNI team of 280 dedicated faculty provide compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer's to Parkinson's; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.

The WVUHS has more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. Anchored by our 700-bed academic medical center in Morgantown, the Health System includes more than 24 member hospitals that collectively serve a multi-state region that includes West Virginia, Western Maryland, Eastern Ohio, Virginia, and Southwestern Pennsylvania.
