Our student and new graduate programs offer a chance to explore Sun Life from the inside. You'll make a difference in the lives of our Clients and communities, while building the skills and experience that allow you to grow in a meaningful and rewarding way.

Canadian Finance's Management Insights team supports Sun Life Canada's financial and business objectives through reporting, analytics, and insights for the Canadian Executive Team, Board of Directors, and investors. Reporting to the Director, Management Insights, the co-op student will help develop, consolidate, and review Canadian performance reporting and analytics across key measures, trends, strategic progress, and overall performance, while gaining exposure to business units and enablement functions across Sun Life Canada.

The co-op student will support high-visibility work while building financial analysis, business acumen, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills. This role is ideal for a curious, analytical, detail-oriented student who can adapt to changing priorities and multiple deliverables.

What will you do?

  • Support quarterly external reporting deliverables for Sun Life Canada, including analytics, process support, and materials such as MD&A, news release, and supplement inputs.

  • Assist with quarterly internal reporting deliverables, including the Sun Life Canada Board Report, CFO presentation, and President's message.

  • Contribute to quarterly competitive insights by reviewing peer performance, identifying key themes and trends, and helping prepare concise summaries for senior leaders.

  • Assist with executive and leadership materials by preparing clear, polished PowerPoint presentations, supporting Excel files, briefing notes, and concise business insights tailored to senior audiences.

  • Identify and support opportunities to improve recurring deliverables, processes, automation, and tools used by the Management Insights team.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with a focus in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • High attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to absorb information on a variety of financial and non-financial topics.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile information across multiple sources and identify key insights.

  • A proactive, curious, and collaborative mindset; comfortable asking questions, learning new processes, and building relationships across teams.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
