Salary: Starting at $27.00/hr (depending on experience)


Job Summary:

Under the immediate supervision of the Procurement Officer, performs semi-skilled work in operating a variety of general hauling equipment for the moving of construction and maintenance materials, small equipment, and supplies. Monitors the flow of materials, components, tooling, and paperwork to conform to all schedules. Assists the Procurement team with procurement, storage, and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and distribution of materials for projects and repair work to meet TNHA's objectives and repair requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Procurement Team in maintaining warehouse inventory levels to ensure sufficient materials and supplies are used in maintenance and construction operations.
  • Assists Procurement in conducting annual and other inventories of materials, supplies, and equipment and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Maintains accurate accountability of outgoing and incoming materials.
  • Prepares items delivered to the warehouse for transport to fill specific orders or to specific sites.
  • Receives supplies and materials from the dock or airport.
  • Gathers materials for jobs, loads and unloads trucks, sorts materials, and maintains inventory documentation.
  • Using moving equipment, such as a forklift, to ensure that materials are moved and stored in their proper locations.
  • Assembles issues, receives, stocks, and retires materials for maintenance and force account crews for jobs based on the . Properly records returns and retirements.
  • Assists Procurement Team with the procurement of materials and supplies, as needed.
  • Operates tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
  • Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
  • Participates in training programs for job knowledge and technical skills.
  • Reports to the supervisor any hazardous conditions or needed maintenance of equipment.
  • Operates TNHA machinery and equipment, as needed.
  • Observes TNHA safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all information obtained through professional and client interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school graduate or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) recipient.
  • Ability to use basic math skills for inventory and procurement purposes.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid Driver's License that meets TNHA insurance criteria.

Preferred:

  • Alaskan Native/American Indian (member of federally recognized tribe).
  • One (1) year experience of storage and warehousing.
  • Two (2) years of work experience with a PC using common software applications.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
  • Ability to speak and/or understand conversational Inupiaq.

Physical Demands: This role frequently involves working outside in cold weather and requires regular physical activity, including heavy lifting. It also involves frequent movement, such as walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and climbing. Visual acuity for reaching and operating equipment is required. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires alertness and adherence to safety protocols at all times.


Work Environment: The work environment is both indoor and outdoor, often in cold weather conditions. It may involve working around heavy machinery and in areas with varying noise levels.
