Purpose:
Ensure Site is meeting/addressing customer specific requirements. Ensure Site is adhering to NSG Business Management System.
Essential Functions:
  • Ensure the operations are fully understanding and meeting customer specific requirements. Work with leadership (floor and shift supervisors), Technical Team Members (Engineers, Process Improvers), and Operators to ensure customer satisfaction. Translate the customer requirements into production specifications, control plans, and process FMEAs
  • Maintain customer communications to ensure customer quality issues are handled timely to completion. Has the responsibility and authority to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process and quality system. Responsible for Corrective Action Response (CAR) problem solving, database, and meetings. Lead the corrective action process as assigned on issues. Customer and supplier visitation as required - planned (pro-active) and unplanned (re-active).
  • Responsible for recording any problems relating to the product, process and quality system. Has the authority to control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Direct the resources of production and/or supplier liaison for any required sorts. Manage the tasks associated with the implementation and management of preventative and corrective containment activities Develop and post Quality Alerts. Training, tracking and providing the tools required to meet customer expectations.
  • Adhere to the Business Management System for IATF16949 compliance. Perform quality system, control plan and safety audits in accordance with the prescribed procedures and frequencies. Participate in regulatory and other audits as required per the audit schedule.
  • Reviews sample submissions by suppliers to determine conformance with customer requirements. Disposition the sample and provide feedback to purchasing for resolution. Work with suppliers of direct materials to improve quality performance. Manage SQIN database (Supplier Quality Incident Notice). Conduct/Lead Supplier Audits and follow up action plans.
  • Support Production Group with quality meetings, problem solving, reject/defect investigations associated with direct materials. Support quality improvement process (QIP) regarding direct materials.
  • Works with the Technician to evaluate and implement capable measurement systems to meet both NSG and customer requirements. Conducts or assists with GR&R's on new measurement equipment, training the users and completion of satisfactory GR&R's. Any required modifications/corrections required of the measurement equipment are to be championed by central engineering. Ensure Entry of new equipment into the calibration database including Master/Boundary/Training samples. Implementation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of RQM database.
  • Participate in the NSG New Model Introduction (NMI) process. Attend meetings and complete tasks as directed. Participate in Cost Reduction activities.
  • Ensures that the part files are organized and well maintained with obsolete files/drawings properly identified,
  • Manage PPAP process for glass supplied to plant and for changes to direct materials once in production. Responsible for customer specific PPAP.
  • Auditing and disposition of material in the hold cage. Management of Nonconforming Tickets.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

  • Interactions with internal and external technical experts to resolve issues related to nonconformities of product, process, and quality system
  • Prepare and present corrective action response to Sr. leadership and or customer representatives
  • Influence the work of others who do not report directly to this job title and hold others accountable for their work output without a direct supervisory relationship

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in a related area or a combination of education and experience or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years Engineering or Quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, Tier 1 experience preferred
  • 3+ years Experience with IATF 16949 / ISO9001 or similar quality system requirements and auditing.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve using a formalized methodology (8D, Fishbone, 5Why).
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and statistical software)
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of PPAP requirements
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawing/specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and take initiative
  • Demonstrated achievements supporting a results oriented focus and use of leadership

Qualifications Desired:
