About the Role

Applied Mechanical Group is seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to provide application engineering, design support, and technical sales expertise across a wide range of commercial HVAC applications. This role works directly with engineers, contractors, and end users to identify customer needs, recommend sustainable product solutions, and support projects from opportunity development through implementation.

  • Provide integrated application engineering and design support for commercial HVAC applications.
  • Partner with engineers, contractors, and end users to understand project requirements and recommend appropriate products and technologies.
  • Prepare job takeoffs, estimates, proposals, quotes, submittals, and technical documentation.
  • Deliver product presentations, conference calls, meetings, lunch-and-learn sessions, and product demonstrations.
  • Provide technical product support, conduct job site visits, and assist with hands-on troubleshooting as needed.
  • Educate customers on products and equipment represented by Applied Mechanical Group Distributors, including opportunities in the Greater Salt Lake market.
  • Research and develop new business opportunities within key vertical markets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with prompt follow-up and quick turnaround times.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
  • Strong customer service mindset and commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while taking initiative independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organizational abilities and computer proficiency.
  • Professional, polished presentation skills.
