Position Title: Assistant Baseball Coach
Location: Jamestown, ND
Employment Type: Full-time, 10-month staff position

The University of Jamestown, a proud member of NCAA Division II and the NSIC, is seeking a motivated and experienced full-time Assistant Baseball Coach to join our Jimmies Baseball program. This position supports the Head Coach in all aspects of building and maintaining a competitive, student-athlete-centered program that emphasizes athletic excellence, academic success, and personal development. 
About the University of Jamestown:
The University of Jamestown (UJ) is a private, liberal arts university founded in 1883, committed to providing a student-centered education that combines academic excellence with professional preparation and personal growth. Located in Jamestown, North Dakota, UJ offers a close-knit community with small class sizes, modern facilities, and a strong emphasis on holistic student development.
Key Responsibilities:
•  Assist with on-field coaching. 
•  Help plan, organize, and conduct daily practices, skill development sessions, strength and conditioning programs, and game-day operations.
•  Participate in recruiting: Identify, evaluate, and recruit academically and athletically qualified prospective student-athletes.
•  Support team operations, including travel coordination, scheduling, equipment management, scouting, video analysis, and statistics.
•  Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes to promote retention and graduation.
•  Ensure full compliance with all NCAA, NSIC, and University of Jamestown rules and regulations.
•  Contribute to a positive team culture aligned with the university’s mission and values.
•  Assist with fundraising, alumni engagement, community outreach, and other program needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
•  Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred).
•  Previous coaching experience (collegiate, high school, or club level) and/or competitive playing experience.
•  Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, player development, and game strategy.
•  Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
•  Commitment to the academic and personal success of student-athletes.
•  Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (ability to drive team vehicles may be required).
•  Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively during the season.
Preferred Qualifications:
•  Experience coaching infielders and/or hitters.
•  Familiarity with NCAA Division II rules and recruiting processes.
•  Prior experience in a college baseball program.
•  Proven ability to recruit competitive student-athletes.
