JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Interim WPI Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for assisting the Interim WPI Head Coach of Baseball in providing leadership and direction for all aspects of the baseball program as they compete competitively in NCAA Division III athletics while providing an educational environment that enhances the development of the whole student-athlete.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assist the Interim Head Coach in providing leadership and direction for the baseball program while maintaining a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, as well as New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and WPI policies and procedures.
  • Develop team and individual strategies that foster an environment of success through the effective teaching of the physical, mental, and emotional skills and abilities needed for achievement. Provide skill development opportunities, instruction in techniques, and sport psychology support to optimize student-athlete performance. Establish systems of support to ensure the academic, athletic, and social success of all team members participating in the program. Provide holistic support to student-athletes, including referrals to appropriate campus student support resources as needed.
  • Support the Interim Head Coach in actively engaging student-athletes in the athletic program's #BeTheGoat programming and initiatives.
  • Support recruiting efforts for prospective student-athletes committed to academic and athletic excellence.
  • Assist the Interim Head Coach in effectively managing operating, fundraising, and other available resources to maximize opportunities while maintaining a high-quality student-athlete experience.
  • Serve as a role model for students, student-athletes, the program, the department, the division, and WPI in all areas of responsibility. Support Student Affairs and Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics initiatives as requested.

Compensation depends on experience but is up to $75/hour, with approximately 15-hours per week.
