Job Description:
Lead, direct and oversee the safe and effective daily operation of a project crew. Take action as needed to ensure project goals, objectives and initiatives are met in alignment with the mission, vision and core values of Barnhill Contracting Company.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading project teams to implement and maintain a clean and safe work site, and to motivate the field operations team to their highest efficiency to exceed project, equipment, requirements, quality control, and operating division productivity and budget goals.
  • Effectively manage the day-to-day schedule/coordination to ensure field team and subcontractors are working efficiently and effectively. Assist Superintendent/ Project Manager in the management of the overall schedule by maintaining open communication on project material, manpower needs and potential challenges or delays.
  • Responsible for Quality Control and Field Documentation per Barnhill and Owner/Designer requirements.
  • Effectively plan and communicate project needs (i.e. labor, equipment, materials, etc.) Understand equipment capabilities and maximize utilization.
  • Receive/provide feedback and guidance on production rates and goals.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications. Intermediate ability to understand and apply the details of the plans to complete the job independently.
  • Promote and support good internal and external relationships throughout all divisions and departments of Barnhill Contracting Company, with clients and the general public.
  • Responsible for onsite training/mentoring of direct reports and field personnel by setting clear and attainable goals and providing direction as needed.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:
  • Education Level: High School degree of an equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.
  • Work Experience: 5 years in construction industry
  • Required License/Certification: NC Driver License, Erosion Control Level II, OSHA 10 or 30-hr, Traffic Control Installer Certification, Traffic Control Supervisor Certification, MSHA, EEO, Asphalt Certification, Smith System Defensive Driving

Environment or Physical Working Condition:
