Dozer Operator - Taylor Road Landfill
Position Summary
The Dozer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of bulldozers and other heavy equipment in support of landfill operations. This position plays a critical role in waste placement, grading, road maintenance, soil management, and overall site operations to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate bulldozers and other assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Spread, compact, and grade incoming waste materials in accordance with landfill operating procedures.
  • Construct and maintain access roads, working faces, slopes, berms, and drainage features.
  • Apply and maintain daily cover and intermediate cover materials as required.
  • Assist with excavation, grading, and site development projects.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
  • Identify and report equipment deficiencies, maintenance needs, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and landfill operating procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with scale house personnel, spotters, supervisors, and other operators.
  • Assist with stormwater management and erosion control efforts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience operating dozers or similar heavy equipment preferred.
  • Experience in landfill, earthmoving, grading, or construction operations preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand basic site plans, grades, and operating instructions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and safety practices.
