Job description

Job Summary:
The Grader Operator is responsible for operating a motor grader to spread, level, and smooth base materials and asphalt in preparation for paving and road construction projects. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate motor graders to establish proper road grade and slope for paving projects.
  • Fine grade surfaces in preparation for asphalt paving or other materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, survey stakes, and grade sheets.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections.
  • Collaborate with the crew to ensure the job site is safe and productive.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company protocols.
  • Communicate with the foreman and project managers regarding site progress or issues.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a motor grader in an asphalt, road construction, or grading environment.
  • Ability to fine grade to within 1/10th of an inch with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of GPS grading systems is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work as part of a team.
