Job description

Position Summary: The Furnace Operator position requires an organized individual with the ability to accurately perform daily work and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This grade represents an inexperienced Operator or an Operator in training, or an Operator who is responsible for the operation of limited equipment. This position is a Responsibility Premium Pay Level 2.

Qualifications (include but are not limited to):

  • Good analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Record of dependability and good attendance
  • Must work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Must have safe forklift skills and be licensed by the Parker Trutec Safety Department
  • Must complete hazardous material training class
  • Must be able to 50 pound bags of chemicals

Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Ability to identify all parts, verify part numbers, and production numbers (will have material to reference)
  • The C Grade Operator will work closely with the A and B Grade Operators to further develop operating knowledge and expertise.
  • Document discrepancies, overages and shortages
  • Ensure all checklists/preventative maintenance required are completed for the day
  • Communicate to the lead operator or department manager any changes in procedures so that operation standards can be edited
  • Prepare area for the next shift and practice 5S
  • Understand and follow the PC Chart
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Follow all work instruction for the area
