General Job Description for: Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter

This is skilled construction work involving the preparation, forming, placement, and finishing of concrete for commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. The Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter performs a variety of tasks related to concrete construction, including form setting, grade preparation, concrete placement, finishing, and quality control. Work is performed under the direction of a Superintendent or Foreman and is subject to review for quality, productivity, and adherence to company safety standards.

Job Duties and Tasks for: Skilled Concrete Finisher / Form Setter
  1. Set, align, and secure concrete forms according to project plans and specifications.
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, elevations, and construction drawings.
  3. Prepare subgrades and assist with layout for concrete pours.
  4. Place, spread, screed, and finish concrete surfaces.
  5. Perform floating, edging, jointing, broom finishing, and troweling operations.
  6. Assist with curb and gutter, sidewalks, foundations, slabs, paving, and other concrete construction activities.
  7. Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment used in concrete construction.
  8. Ensure proper concrete curing and protection procedures are followed.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  10. Work effectively with crew members, equipment operators, and project supervisors to meet production schedules.
  11. Perform related duties as assigned.
