Job description

Hutchinson Public Schools Activities Department is seeking a Grade 10 Volleyball Coach for the 2026-2027 season and beyond.  
The Grade 10 Volleyball Coach will carry out the Purpose Statement and the objectives of the program. This position will instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of pride of accomplishment and self-confidence.  
Schedule:



  • 55-60 days per year, hours per day will vary
  • Season begins in August 2026

Qualifications:

  • Prefer Minnesota teaching and coaching certification.
  • Prefer employment as a teacher in the Hutchinson School District.
  • Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.
  • Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport

Nominal Stipend:

  • The stipend range for this position is $3,728.00 - $4,751.00 and is dependent upon education and experience.
  • The district will pay the coach a fixed stipend as delineated in Schedule C, of the master agreement with the Education Hutchinson. The stipend amount is considered a "nominal stipend".  The amount of the stipend will not change based on the number of daily hours that are devoted to coaching/advisor duties or the team's level of success.  If team enrollment is not met, the district may make staffing reductions that reflect program level offerings within the first two weeks of the program.  Any service provided during this two-week timeframe will be paid on a weekly pro-rated basis. In addition, if the selected candidate is unable to fulfill coaching/advising duties for five or more days, the stipend paid will be prorated.
