Expand your driving career at G.W. Murphy, Inc. (dba / Ray's Roofing Supply) which is a family-owned independent building supply company that has been supplying materials to the Chicagoland area and nationwide for nearly 50 years. Join our team of experienced drivers. We are looking for full-time, safe, efficient, experienced drivers with a positive, can-do attitude to join our great team of drivers to make Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana rooftop deliveries of roofing materials with newer model, knuckle boom cranes mounted on flatbed straight trucks. You will also use flatbed trucks equipped with conveyors and piggyback forklifts to deliver to contractors and building material suppliers. Responsibilities
  • Able to navigate efficiently and make safe, ontime deliveries of roofing materials to retailers and jobsites in Chicagoland area.
  • Treat customers in friendly, professional manner.
  • Perform all needed inspections on loads and equipment.
  • Keep vehicles clean and report any maintenance issues.
  • Operate vehicles legally and safely at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records and paperwork.
  • Load and unload trucks accurately and safely.
  • Able to safely and efficiently operate truck mounted forklift, conveyor boom, and knuckle boom crane.
  • Assist in warehouse, yard, and shop as needed.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as a team.
  • Requirements:
  • Current "A or B" class CDL with Air Brake Endorsement required.
  • Experience making rooftop deliveries of building materials with knuckle boom/crane preferred.
  • NCCCO Crane Certification preferred.
  • Current Chicago Class II Crane License preferred.
  • Knowledge of Chicagoland area streets.
  • Previous flatbed truck driving experience.
  • Previous forklift operating experience.
  • Previous piggyback forklift delivery experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of roofing materials preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Able to lift up to 70 100 lbs. repetitively if needed.
  • Current copy of Driver’s License and MVR.
  • Able to pass DOT physical, drug, and background checks.
  • Able to work well with others and provide great customer service.
  • Flexible and cooperative attitude to work and help as needed including the yard and warehouse.
