Job description

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Schedules customer pick up requests for multiple warehouses 
  • Arranges domestic freight  
    • Negotiates competitive periodic pricing on drayage freight with freight brokers  
    • Coordinates drayage for freight to the port to ensure on time delivery for port cuts 
    • Fields driver calls throughout the day  
      • Builds relationships with customers and warehouses to create scheduling efficiencies 
        • Works with customers to ensure inventory is pulled from the correct account in our system 
            • Works with CRR to request date changes for customer deliveries 
            • Utilizes Samsara GPS to assist with driver call ins and reporting  
            • Dispatches and schedules temper releases 
            • Looks for process improvements and collaborates inter-departmentally  
            • Reviews national dispatching to ensure routes are efficiently built  
            • Collaborates with CRR and other departments to resolve and improve processes to increase productivity  
            • Trains all third parties on Nextrack and its requirements  
            • Enforces Nextrack compliance and scheduling parameters  
            • Scouts new third-party haulers to create and negotiate competitive pricing and contracts 
            • Sets up new users for Nextrack internal scheduler  
            • Monthly reporting on late, cancelled or rescheduled trucks
            • Works with warehouses to coordinate labor for scheduled loading appointments 
            • Resolves all billing discrepancies for efficient processing  
            • Provides backup coverage to all logistics positions 
            • Trains the export team on all TMS functions as needed  
            • Trains new dispatch employees  
            • Assists dispatch employees with issues regarding customers, scheduling appointments and driver compliance 
            • Trains Agri-Mark Employees and warehouse locations on Nextrack Scheduler  
            • Cross-Trained to cover all positions in the office  
              • Other Duties as assigned   

              Position Qualifications: 

              2 years dispatch experience preferred 

              Highschool diploma or GED required 

              Must be able to pass background check and drug test 

              Previous experience and knowledge of product export and import logistics   

              Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

              Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 

              Knowledge of FMCSA HOS rule and regulations 

              Safety conscious mentality  

              Customer service excellence and conflict resolution 

              Exceptional time management and the ability to multi-task 

              Efficient communication to work with team members in all departments 

              Self-starting with decisive communication  

              Ability to perform under high stress to meet firm deadlines 

              Comfortable and able to focus in an open office environment 

              Mastery of Outlook to address and prioritize high volume email correspondence  

              Ability to answer the phone professionally and field calls throughout the day  

              Effective communication to build long lasting working relationships  

              Ability to think outside the box to solve logistics challenges (OS&D, truck breakdowns, Etc.) 

              Experience with GPS software  

              Proficient with Samsara Electronic Logs  

              Mastery of the Transportation management software 

              Proficient with AS400  

              Knowledge of all customer online scheduling portals (12+ online schedulers) 

              Mastery of Nextrack internal scheduling program 

               Anticipated starting rate for this position is $22-$24 an hour
