What is a GPS coordinator?

GPS Coordinators are professionals responsible for managing and overseeing the use of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology within an organization. Their duties typically include monitoring GPS equipment, ensuring accurate data collection, updating maps or tracking systems, and providing technical support for GPS users. They may work in industries such as transportation, construction, logistics, or field services to optimize routing, improve efficiency, and maintain accurate records of assets or personnel locations.

How does a GPS coordinator typically collaborate with field teams and other departments?

A GPS Coordinator regularly works with field teams to ensure accurate tracking and efficient routing of vehicles or assets. They act as a communication bridge between drivers, dispatchers, and management, providing real-time support and troubleshooting for GPS-related issues. Additionally, GPS Coordinators often collaborate with IT and operations departments to implement system updates and analyze route data for process improvements. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for maintaining smooth logistics operations and optimizing resource allocation.
