Job Summary:
Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI) is seeking a Technical Writer to join their team. The ideal candidate will produce clear and user-friendly technical documentation supporting Federal Government IT programs, translating complex technical concepts into accessible documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system manuals, user guides, API documentation, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and subject matter experts to gather and validate technical content.
• Translate complex technical information into clear, accessible documentation for diverse audiences.
• Maintain documentation repositories and ensure version control and document lifecycle management.
• Ensure all documentation meets federal plain language standards, style guides, and Section 508 requirements.
• Review and edit documentation produced by other team members for accuracy and clarity.
• Manage documentation, deliverable schedules, and coordinate reviews with government stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's in English, Technical Writing, or related field.
• 3 years of technical writing, 1 year of software documentation.
• Demonstrated expertise in: Technical documentation, user manuals, process documentation, content management, editing.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain one.
Preferred:
• STC (Society for Technical Communication) certification or equivalent.
• Experience producing technical documentation for DoD or federal agency IT programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Confluence, or MadCap Flare.
• Familiarity with DITA or structured authoring methodologies.
