Job description

Job Summary:
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. They are seeking a Technical Writer to improve the quality and consistency of technical documentation for their robotics and autonomy platforms, working closely with engineering and product teams.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, organize, and maintain key technical documentation across product lines, including: Interface Control Documents (ICDs), User Manuals and Operator Guides, Data Sheets and Specification Sheets, Confluence Templates, Spaces, and Engineering Data Repositories, Design Review and Testing Templates
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure documentation remains technically accurate, up to date, and aligned with current system configurations
• Help establish consistent documentation standards, templates, and organizational structures across Confluence and SharePoint environments
• Support and build upon existing documentation strategies and templates across the engineering organization
• Improve documentation accessibility and organization for both internal teams and external users/customers
• Work across hardware and software teams to gather technical information and translate it into clear, usable documentation
• Help identify and reduce documentation gaps and technical debt across major systems, LRUs, and platform configurations
• Support additional technical documentation and engineering enablement efforts as organizational needs evolve
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience creating or managing technical documentation for hardware and/or software systems
• Strong written communication and organizational skills
• Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts clearly
• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering teams
• Familiarity with Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA, or similar documentation tools
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred:
• Experience in robotics, autonomy, aerospace, defense, or complex technical systems
• Familiarity with systems engineering documentation practices
• Experience creating ICDs, user manuals, data sheets, or specification documentation
• Experience supporting hardware product development environments
• Familiarity with defense or government technical documentation standards and processes
• Experience working with MIL-STD, DoD, or regulated technical documentation requirements
• Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation standards within engineering and product development workflows
