Job description

Position: International Security Specialist

Clearance: Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required and current within the last five years

Work Location: Arlington, Virginia

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday onsite (Regular Full-time)

Work Authorization: United States (Required)

Position Summary

The International Security Specialist (ISS) will perform daily acquisition and operational security duties supporting the customer's international program. The ISS will liaison with the Joint Program Office's International Partners and Foreign Military Sales countries to transmit mission critical information to and from the international partners/participants, ensure all required security documentation is submitted by the partners/participants in a timely manner, provide security mentorship and training, and provide staff assistance visits to ensure compliance with treaty level agreements and US government security regulations. The ISS develops all pertinent security documentation (Access Management Control Plans, Project Security Instructions, Security Agreements, and Security Classification Guides) for new participants and updates current security documentation for existing partners/participants. The International Security Specialist must have a current Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required and current within the last five years and be willing to work onsite in Arlington, Virginia.

Duties Include:

  • Develop, maintain, update, and coordinate Security Operations Manuals (SOM), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Security Classification Guides (SCGs), and other Program Security generated documentation and publications.
  • Coordinate activities for regular, comprehensive updates of SCG and assist with the identification of and tracking of appropriate SMEs to assist in SCG development, update and, distribution.
  • Create, maintain, update, and coordinate Access Management Control Plan (AMCP), Project Security Instruction (PSI), and other International Security publications as specified by the government International Security Managers (ISM, Deputy ISM for Partners, and Deputy ISM for FMS).
  • Coordinate Security Conferences for International Security
  • Participate in meetings and provide a documented description of the meeting, results, tasks, action items, and suspense dates, and track to completion for the government security lead.
  • Support the International Security Manager at EXCOM and Tri-Service briefings
  • Perform risk management and risk analysis and assist in the development of risk reporting tools such as matrices, registers, and handling plans.
  • Coordinate with geographically separated GSSOs and international country security managers to facilitate and record SAP security requirements.
  • Familiar with all international security issues and able to effectively discuss any outstanding issues or areas of concern regarding the international arena.
  • Maintain document tracking log for Partner/FMS specific AMCP, PSI, SOP, Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), and other applicable documents
  • Prepare classified packages for transmission through the mail, secure fax, or courier
  • Develop courier orders and transportation plans
  • Perform all document control duties associated with receipt, transmission, inventory, reproduction, disposition, and management of classified information.
  • Conduct Site Assistance Visits (SAV) at CONUS and OCONUS locations as directed by IS Government security leads
  • Coordinate with geographically separated GSSOs and international country security managers to facilitate and record SAP security requirements
  • Track IS required Classified document/media inventories, self-inspections, training, and other applicable documents
  • Identify emerging security requirements through review and analysis of user needs and develop recommended Courses of Action (COA) for security leadership review
  • Provide technical expertise and document in writing with detailed rationale recommendations regarding the classification of information and material, including the complication of information and/or material to Government security leads
  • Assess and recommend solutions to optimize security processes for a rapidly growing program, including automation, to ensure consistent security support
  • Develop and support continuous process improvement strategies and change management projects

Position Qualifications

  • Experience or education adaptable to analytical document review with the DoD
  • DoD Information Security Program experience IAW DoDM 5200.01 Vol 1-3.
  • BA/BS degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of specialized security experience
  • No degree with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of specialized security experience
  • Travel
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel required
  • Must have an active US Passport
  • Experience with SAPF construction and SAP operations
  • Experience with conducting SAPF SAVs and preparing a SAPF for compliance inspections
  • Familiar with all international security issues and be able to effectively discuss any outstanding issues or areas of concern regarding the international arena.
  • Available to work before/after typical office hours as work may demand
  • Excellent briefing and technical writing skills
  • Impeccable customer service skills
  • Read, speak, and understand the English language fluently
  • Expert experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe tools and systems including Excel, Project, Teams, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Complete a security screening interview
  • Must maintain clearance, and eligibility throughout employment
  • Must meet client suitability
