Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner, Lead Associate supporting programs within our Defense portfolio. This role reports to the Business Unit Senior HR Manager and partner with leaders with alignment between business priorities, program needs, and people strategy execution.
The HRBP improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, and coaching and counseling managers and employees. The role independently handles employee relations issues and provides guidance on complex workplace matters. In addition, this individual implements employee retention initiatives and engagement strategies to strengthen organizational effectiveness while partnering closely with HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, and Employee Relations, to deliver aligned people strategies and solutions that support business objectives.
The ideal candidate will be viewed as a trusted partner who is responsive, consultative, and collaborative in driving win-win solutions while balancing business objectives with employee experience.
Additional background and experience required for this role includes, but are not limited to:
  • Strategic thinking - sees the big picture, connects enterprise priorities to program execution, and dives into details as necessary
    • Ability to spearhead HR initiatives (can start with a blank sheet, design a plan/program/process, and execute against a defined timeline)
    • Strong employee relations skills; ability to independently handle complex employee issues
    • Strong relationship-building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships across functions and leadership levels
    • Strong consulting skills: able to identify root causes and bring appropriate solutions and resources forward
    • Strong analytical skills; able to leverage technology and data to draw meaningful conclusions
    • Ability to support geographically dispersed teams, including a OCONUS employee population
    • Facilitate positive employee and leadership relationships
    • Ability to work with confidential information and communicate with appropriate discretion
    • Demonstrated knowledge of key employment laws
    • Experience with process documentation and/or automation

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • 9+ years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Government contracting experience desired.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Government contracting experience.
  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualification:
  • SHRM-CP, PHR certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
