Job description

About Basis

Basis builds real agents that do real work in the real economy. Our agents operate for hours at a time, performing end-to-end work for some of the largest accounting firms in the world.

We recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation and are racing to deploy the most advanced applied ML at production scale.

Our investors include: Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Accel (Miles Clements), Google Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, Kyle Vogt, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue and many other operators/technical leaders.

"Basis is on the frontier of building production-grade, long-horizon agents. They’re pushed the limits of what we thought our models could do on real-world, economically valuable, complex accounting tasks. They've been a great collaborator in helping us shape what the future of agents looks like." — Prashant Mital, Applied AI Lead, OpenAI

About the role

The way accountants work is changing. AI agents are now doing real work – preparing returns, reviewing workpapers, flagging exceptions – and accountants need to learn how to work alongside them. At Basis, we believe you can't just hand someone a powerful tool and walk away. You have to guide them into the future.

That's what Basis Academy is for. It's how firms learn to work confidently with Basis agents across Tax, Audit, and Advisory. As Customer Education Product Manager, you will build the Academy into a world-class learning product – one that shortens time‑to‑value, drives adoption, and earns the kind of credentials that accounting professionals are proud to put on their resume.

What you'll do
  • Own the Academy as a product: strategy, roadmap, content operations, and outcomes
  • Build best‑in‑class digital learning experiences: role‑based paths tailored to Preparers, Reviewers, and Managers across CAS, Tax, Audit, and Advisory
  • Design the "Basis Certified" credential ladder: define what it means to be an expert in AI Accounting and build a certification that matters
  • Build for scale: translate our high‑touch, white‑glove training into scalable, on‑demand courses and interactive simulations
  • Drive CPE accreditation: work toward making Basis courses eligible for Continuing Professional Education credits, a major differentiator for firm partners
  • Build the content operations machine: produce high‑quality learning content efficiently and keep it current with every product release
  • Hire and lead a lean, high‑output team (instructional designers, content producers, live session facilitators)
  • Instrument the program end‑to‑end: connect learning data to product adoption, retention, and business outcomes
What you'll bring
  • 4+ years building or scaling a customer education or technical enablement program at a modern SaaS or AI company
  • Experience running content operations: you can produce high‑quality content efficiently and keep it current in a fast‑moving product environment
  • Proven ability to evolve a program from live‑training‑only to a hybrid model of self‑paced digital learning and live workshops
Bonus if you have
  • Background in accounting, finance, or a similar regulated industry
  • Experience with AI products, specifically teaching users how to work with AI agents
  • Familiarity with CPE/CE accreditation programs (NASBA or similar)
  • Experience with LMS platforms (WorkRamp, Thought Industries, etc.) and/or badging platforms (Credly, Open Badges)
What we look for
  • First principles reasoner: builds frameworks from scratch rather than copying what's been done before
  • High agency: takes ownership of outcomes and moves fast without waiting for perfect information
  • Builder mentality: treats the Academy as a product; cares about user journey, platform UX, and whether content actually creates behavior change
  • Office lover: prefers shouting across a room over a Slack message, seeking full‑time in‑office in NYC
Benefits at Basis
  • Health & Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; Life Insurance; and 6 coaching & 6 therapy sessions through Spring Health.
  • Time off: Unlimited PTO + 12 paid company holidays.
  • In-Office Perks: Daily meal stipends, a fully stocked kitchen, and $300 toward your custom desk setup.
  • Financial Benefits: Pre-tax commuter benefits and 401(k) retirement plan
  • Team Culture: Monthly office activities and frequent optional team happy hours.
  • Parental Leave
