Description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, support, administration, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers and associated applications.

The Systems Administrator will strengthen the security of our network and systems, manage Active Directory, including security group membership, account management, and shared file server administration, and integrate and maintain enterprise systems, including Google Workspace, Banner, Blackboard, Samba, PaperCut, and others. This position will ensure compliance with NIST and PCI security standards, and serve as a Google Workspace Administrator, including SSO application setup with QuickLaunch and vendor coordination.

The Systems Administrator will configure, implement, administer, and upgrade Windows and Linux servers, develop automation programs to streamline IT processes, and monitor system performance and recommend upgrades as needed. This position will maintain network security and integrity, both on-premises and in the cloud, troubleshoot and resolve system hardware/software issues, administer VMware environments, including virtual machine management, and manage L-Soft Listserv, supporting mailing lists and automation processes.

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor degree, extensive applicable work history considered. 
  • At least 3 years Linux systems administration (CentOS, RedHat, Debian) 
  • At least 3 years Windows Server experience. 
  • Experience with user provisioning, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication 
  • Demonstrated scripting/programming experience with languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Visual Basic, SQL. PHP. 
  • Strong skills in messaging and directory services such as e-mail (SMTP), LDAP, Active Directory. 
  • At least 3 years VMware virtual server management. 
  • At least 3 years SAN management with iSCSI or Fibre Channel. 
  • Enterprise disaster recovery management experience 
  • Knowledge of Oracle and mySQL/MariaDB database systems. 
  • Knowledge of system security tools and techniques. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with SSL certificate installation and maintenance. 
  • Excellent written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills required. 
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals. 
  • Ability to shift priorities in an ever-changing environment. 
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting end-users, preferably in an academic setting.

Schedule         

40 Hours/ 12 Months/ Monday - Friday
