Purpose Statement: The Cloud Solutions Architect is the leading technology expert globally responsible for defining the strategic direction, technical roadmap, and design for IT platform architectures and infrastructure across public, hybrid, and distributed cloud environments. This role dictates design processes, best practices, and standards for implementation and documentation within the domain. The Architect must demonstrate a strategic, innovative mindset, forward-looking vision, and learning agility, continually integrating current technology trends into architectural plans and roadmaps.
Key Job Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the overall technical direction and strategy of cloud platform architectures ensuring solutions are highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Develop and maintain a robust hybrid cloud strategy using services like Google Distributed Cloud and Cloud Interconnect to create a seamless environment between on-premise data centers and GCP.
  • Translate existing on-premise security architectures and controls from appliances (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet) into cloud-native security services like VPC Service Controls, IAM, and Cloud Armor.
  • Lead as the subject matter expert for cloud platform architecture, providing guidance and mentorship to development, infrastructure, and operations teams.
  • Continuously monitor technology trends and integrate innovative solutions into strategic roadmaps.
  • Develop and document a robust architectural framework within the domain that aligns with and supports overall company objectives.
  • Defines standards, frameworks, and guidelines for the associated teams, leveraging design and architecture patterns and domain best practices.
  • Ensures that the system design balances functional and technical requirements.
  • Evaluates systems designs, ensuring effective application of appropriate methods, tools, and techniques. Provides recommendations and assesses and manages associated risks.

Education/Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 6 or more years of experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • 2 years of IT Architecture experience
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform being a mandatory skill.
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment, pipeline design, and implementation.
  • Demonstrable experience in configuring cloud platforms in preparation for migration projects from on-premises data centers to a public cloud.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing complex solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of core GCP services, including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and IAM.
  • Strong understanding of traditional on-premise technologies: server virtualization , enterprise storage, security appliances, and both traditional and software defined networking.
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect certification is highly desired
