Job description

Role Summary

The PM2 position is responsible for overseeing project execution at a supervisory level, balancing client-facing communication with internal coordination across departments. This role supports program success by ensuring schedules, communication, and quality standards are met while empowering Project Managers and Project Management Coordinators (PMCs) to manage the details that keep projects moving.

Key Responsibilities Project Oversight
  • Lead projects from planning through completion, ensuring scope, communication, and schedule requirements are met
  • Manage drawing revisions, bills of materials, inventory control, customer equipment, issue resolution, ship‑loose planning and on‑site services
  • Maintain alignment with client milestones and program objectives
  • Monitor interdepartmental dependencies to ensure seamless handoffs between Engineering, Production, Quality, and Field Service
  • Verify all project deliverables meet client requirements and internal quality standards prior to closeout
Client Communication and Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, updates, and deliverables
  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide clear, timely reports on project progress internally and customer facing
  • Anticipate client needs and address issues before they impact schedules or quality
Team Leadership and Coordination
  • Direct PMCs to handle task-level project details, ensuring clear delegation and accountability
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers, Production, Quality, and Field Service to resolve issues
  • Mentor PMCs and junior PMs, fostering skill development and ownership of project outcomes
Issue Management and Risk Mitigation
  • Identify potential project risks related to schedule, cost, or scope and develop mitigation plans
  • Review and elevate critical issues identified in CxAlloy or through inspections
  • Coordinate corrective actions with internal and external stakeholders
Financial and Contractual Accountability
  • As needed, track budgets, purchase orders, and change orders to ensure financial control
  • Provide leadership with updates on potential risks or impacts to project profitability
  • Support contract compliance
Regulatory and Licensing Compliance
  • Coordinate permitting processes with local, state, and federal authorities
  • Ensure all state licensing requirements are met for projects prior to release or installation
  • Maintain accurate records of permits, licenses, and inspections for audit readiness
Reporting and Documentation
  • Ensure accurate and professional meeting minutes, reports, and project execution plans are created and maintained
  • Oversee CxAlloy reporting and other project documentation for quality and completeness
  • Provide leadership with summary updates highlighting progress, risks, and successes
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering or Project Management degree acceptable with 5-7 years’ experience in a technical role
  • On site power generation experience and familiarity with industrial diesel and natural gas generators a plus
  • Civil or commercial construction experience a plus
  • PMP Certification is required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven ability to build consensus and lead change
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated customer interface experience
  • Deadline and detail oriented
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Gantt Chart Software. Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work with diverse teams, multiple organizational levels and across business functions
