Job Description:

Position Summary

You will lead and manage a small team of developers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualizations that provide actionable insights into media performance, creative effectiveness, and audience behavior. You will oversee team operations, set priorities, and ensure high-quality delivery while working closely with data analysts, media planners, and other stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into compelling and user-friendly dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of dashboard developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Conduct one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development conversations with direct reports.
  • Prioritize and assign tasks across the team, balancing workloads and ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  • Establish and refine team processes and best practices for dashboard development.

Dashboard Development:

  • Lead the team in designing, developing, and deploying interactive dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, DOMO, or Datorama.
  • Review and approve team deliverables, ensuring quality standards and alignment with stakeholder requirements.

Data Integration:

  • Oversee the connection of dashboards to various data sources, including databases, APIs, and cloud storage.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for use in dashboards.
  • Establish data quality standards and troubleshoot data integration issues.

Maintenance & Support:

  • Ensure ongoing maintenance and support for existing dashboards, delegating tasks and tracking resolution.
  • Manage escalations and ensure dashboard issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Define and prioritize dashboard updates and enhancements based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and evolving business needs.

Documentation:

  • Ensure the team creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for dashboards, data sources, and data pipelines.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in dashboard development and data visualization, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with SQL, Python or other data manipulation languages.
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
  • Experience in the media or advertising industry platforms for reporting (Google Analytics, CM360 etc...)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical direction and present to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to delegate effectively and foster collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices.
  • Strong project and resource management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
  • Experience managing distributed or remote teams.
