Project Manager – ICI Construction

Location: Montreal, QC
Company: General Contractor
Project Size: Up to $50M
Sector: Industrial, Commercial & Institutional (ICI)

About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of ICI construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires strong leadership, financial control, scheduling expertise, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Manage ICI projects up to $50M from award to final completion

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans

  • Coordinate all phases of construction including procurement, subcontracting, and site execution

  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and local codes

Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts

  • Review and approve subcontractor progress claims and change orders

  • Identify cost risks and implement mitigation strategies

  • Lead change management and negotiate pricing with clients and subcontractors

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and coordinate Site Superintendents, Project Coordinators, and subcontractors

  • Act as the main point of contact with clients, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction

  • Facilitate project meetings and provide clear reporting to senior management

Health, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations (CNESST)

  • Promote a strong safety culture on all projects

Close-Out

  • Manage project commissioning, turnover documentation, and deficiencies

Qualifications & Experience
  • 5–10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in ICI construction

  • Proven experience managing projects valued between $10M–$50M

  • Strong knowledge of Quebec construction practices and regulations

  • Experience working with subcontractors, consultants, and public/private clients

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • PMP designation is an asset
