Job description

adidas Manager, Retail Marketing Programs
Location: Portland, OR preferred (Hybrid, 2 to 3 days onsite at adidas HQ)
Team: Client Services adidas Program
Reports to: Senior Director, DTC Retail Marketing (adidas), functional lead; on ThirdChannel payroll
Employment Type: Full-Time

ABOUT THIRDCHANNEL

ThirdChannel helps brands deploy their best advocates into the marketplace through a technology-first platform connecting brands, retailers, and field teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE

ThirdChannel is hiring an adidas Manager, Retail Marketing Programs to drive planning, execution, and follow-through across adidas' DTC Retail Marketing team. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role for someone who runs multiple workstreams in parallel and partners closely with senior leaders.

This is a ThirdChannel-employed role embedded with adidas. You will report functionally to adidas' Senior Director, DTC Retail Marketing while sitting administratively within ThirdChannel's Client Services organization, driving clarity and accountability across new store openings, retail activations, traffic-driving programs, and SEO and store-discoverability work. Success looks like teams clear on priorities, large initiatives moving without constant escalation, and long-tail work like local SEO staying on track without becoming a full-time role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program & Project Management
Own project management across multiple Retail Marketing initiatives, ensuring timelines, owners, and deliverables are clearly defined and tracked. Drive execution discipline by keeping priorities visible, identifying risks early, and following up on open actions. Create and maintain project plans, timelines, and status updates for leadership visibility across the portfolio.

Cross-Functional Initiative Delivery
Support major cross-functional initiatives including new store openings, retail activations and campaigns, traffic-driving programs, and SEO and digital store-discoverability work. Coordinate across marketing, operations, digital, and external vendors so work lands on time and feels coordinated rather than reactive.

SEO & Store Discoverability
Oversee and coordinate local SEO efforts for retail stores as one portfolio within the broader role, including project timelines and priorities for Google Business Profiles, store locator updates, and reviews and reputation initiatives. Partner with internal teams and external vendors to keep SEO work on track and aligned with retail priorities and translate SEO performance into clear updates and action plans rather than technical execution alone.

Leadership & Team Support
Support the Senior Director with monthly team precaps and recaps, leadership meeting preparation, and calendar and milestone planning. Help connect work across directors and managers to reduce duplication and clarify ownership, and act as a central point of coordination for cross-team initiatives that touch multiple functions within Retail Marketing.

Planning, Budget & Operational Support
Support annual and quarterly planning processes, including roadmaps, priorities, and milestones. Assist with budget planning and tracking, project-level resourcing views, and simple program-tied financial summaries (not FP&A ownership). Help improve team rhythms, templates, and operating practices to increase efficiency over time.

Communication & Recap
Run a consistent cadence of status updates, recaps, and meeting prep across the team and adidas leadership. Synthesize complexity into clear, decision-ready plans, and make sure leaders, partners, and vendors share a common picture of where each initiative stands.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in project management, program management, or marketing operations, ideally within retail, marketing, or consumer-facing organizations.
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects with senior stakeholders, with a track record of keeping work moving without constant escalation.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and supporting decision-making, including preparing leaders for meetings and following through on the actions that come out of them.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to synthesize complexity into clear plans, trackers, and recaps.
  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional partners across marketing, operations, digital, and external vendors or agencies.
  • Familiarity with SEO, digital marketing, or store discoverability is a plus, but deep technical SEO expertise is not required; you will coordinate the work, not execute it hands-on.
  • Exposure to retail, DTC, sporting goods, or apparel/footwear programs is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and comfort building trackers, timelines, and recap materials. Experience with project management or workflow tools (Smartsheet, Workfront, Airtable, Monday, Asana, Atlassian) is preferred.
  • Portland, OR preferred; able to be onsite at adidas' Portland HQ on a hybrid cadence (typically 2 to 3 days per week).

WHY THIRDCHANNEL?

  • Competitive salary ($110115K), based on location and experience
  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, Vision, and Short-Term Disability Insurance
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off, plus a Company Holiday Calendar
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Opportunity to work embedded with one of the world's most iconic sport brands, at the intersection of retail, technology, and workforce innovation
