This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.Â
Employees hired on or before October 1 qualify to receive:
- $250 New hire bonus after Semester 1 completion (December paycheck)
- $750 New hire bonus after Semester 2 completion (May final paycheck)
- Total New hire Bonus: $1,000
Job Summary:Â The duties performed by a kitchen aide are broad and flexible. Assists the kitchen manager to ensure that a quality, nutritious, cost effective meal program is available daily to students and staff.
New Hire Starting Hourly rate:Â Grade 3: $17.59 - $19.59 DOEÂ
Internal Hourly Rate: Determined by the ESSA Negotiated Agreement
Work Hours:Â Start times vary depending on individual school sites, but most positions work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Work Year: 9 months

Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mathematical skills including basic calculations.
- Basic knowledge of computer and keyboarding skills to include Microsoft Office and Google Suite products, as well as basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to work with detailed information/data and maintain strict confidentiality of written and oral information and records.
- Per DEC regulations, must have or be able to pass Food Handlers course 30 days after hire and maintain the card.
