Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all care activities using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Monitor vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure client health and safety.
  • Assist with specialized memory care needs including dementia and Alzheimer's care by implementing tailored routines and behavior management strategies.
  • Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer clients with mobility challenges.
  • Support clients with light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Drive clients to appointments or community activities while ensuring their safety during transit.
  • Implement emergency procedures including first aid and CPR when necessary to respond promptly to health incidents or accidents.
  • Engage in ongoing training related to geriatrics, long-term care, assisted living standards, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges.
  • Foster a supportive atmosphere by practicing respectful communication and promoting independence for each resident’s .

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
  • Strong background working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care.
  • Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic first aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks confidently.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation duties.
  • Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and strong communication abilities.
  • Experience in group home settings or personal care homes is highly desirable.
