About Our Family:

We are a dynamic and driven family, balancing the demands of work, school, and family life. Our family includes four children: one grown and out of the house, and three younger ones ages 5.5, 4, and 2.5, each bringing their own energy and joy to our home. Our afternoons and evenings revolve around their school schedules and extracurricular activities, while we strive to maintain balance and enjoy quality family time.

One parent is a founder of a growing business, frequently traveling for work, while the other is a consultant. We strive to keep our afternoons free to allow for more family time and to help maintain flexibility within our household. Our family is built on the belief that doing life together, with the right support, is far more fulfilling than trying to manage everything solo.

We understand that flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork are essential in a busy household, and we're looking for someone who shares this mindset. We value efficiency, collaboration, and maintaining a calm and organized home so we can focus more on each other.

As a family, we aim to create a space where everyone can thrivewhether it's managing the busy daily routines, planning for family travel, or simply ensuring our home runs smoothly. We are looking for a partner who can support the flow of our lives and help us stay organized without adding stress. The right person will play an integral role in helping us achieve this balance, making life easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate is someone with strong childcare experience who can take charge without requiring constant direction. You're organized, proactive, and capable of reading the roomknowing when to dive in and when to take a step back. We're seeking someone with a calm demeanor and a capable presence who can balance the needs of the household, stay on top of tasks, and adapt as our family's needs evolve. Your ability to support the flow of family life without feeling the need to control every aspect is crucial. You must have a safety-first mindset, especially when caring for younger children. Flexibility is key, as some days may require more support than others.

Our ideal candidate is:

  • Proactive and self-sufficient: Anticipate what needs to be done and take initiative.
  • Systems-minded (but flexible): You thrive on creating simple, effective systems to keep our home organized, but you're also adaptable when life shifts.
  • Calm under pressure: You handle chaos with grace and are never flustered when things don't go exactly as planned.
  • Trustworthy and reliable: You're someone we can count on to make sound decisions and be a consistent presence in our home.

Key Responsibilities:

This role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly day to day, with a few core priorities that anchor the work. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or on an as-needed basis. We care more about the right things getting done not checking all the boxes.

Daily Must-Haves (3:305:30 PM):

  • Reset and tidy main living spaces including the kitchen, ensuring it is prepped for dinner prep and cleaned after
  • Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas, unpack school lunches, hand-wash plastic items
  • Do children's laundry 1-2 times per week -- wash, fold, put away
  • Supervise children, bringing the FUN while keeping everyone safe
  • Pick up toys, blankets, and scattered items around the house
  • Collaborate on meal planning and prep (e.g., basic meal prep or finishing cooking tasks)
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Those core daily and weekly responsibilities come first, but once handled, we welcome support in other areas based on time, energy, and household needs that week, including:

  • Create and/or maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning services on Fridays

  • Prepare for family events and holidays
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs, pick ups and Amazon returns
  • Support packing/unpacking the kids' items for travel or seasonal transitions

  • Maintain indoor plants

Inventory Management & Errands

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)

  • Handle package pickup, mail sorting, returns, deliveries and break down boxes

Meal Planning & Preparation

  • Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for adults and/or kids
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Follow dietary needs and family preferences (gluten-free, organic, etc.)

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Iron, steam, and prepare outfits as needed
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with supplies
  • Handle special care for delicates or uniforms

  • Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers)
  • Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors or guests
