We are seeking an experienced Google Apigee Architect for a fully remote contract engagement with Whirlpool. In this role, you will own API strategy, architecture, and governance for enterprise integration initiatives, working directly with client stakeholders and delivery teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Architect, design, and implement API management solutions on Google Apigee (X, Hybrid, or Edge)
Define API standards, governance frameworks, and enterprise best practices
Develop API proxies, shared flows, and custom policies for traffic management, security, mediation, and caching
Implement API security: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, API key validation, mTLS, threat protection
Migrate legacy integrations to Apigee and modernize the API landscape
Build CI/CD pipelines for API deployments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, Terraform/Apigee CLI)
Establish monitoring, analytics, and alerting using Apigee Analytics and Google Cloud Monitoring
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to integration development
