ITTConnect is seeking an Apigee Developer to work on a contract for one of our clients in the Atlanta/Sandy Springs area. This is a position with a global leader in consulting, digital transformation, technology and engineering services present in nearly 50 countries. The end client is in the Telecom area.
Job location: Atlanta - hybrid zip code 30328 (3 days a week in office).
We are seeking a hands-on Apigee Developer with strong practical experience building, securing, and maintaining enterprise APIs using Apigee.
The ideal candidate is a traditional Apigee developer whose primary expertise is API proxy and policy implementation. This role focuses heavily on hands-on development, troubleshooting, optimization, and support of API integrations in enterprise environments.
Experience with any Apigee platform flavor, including Apigee Edge, X and Hybrid.
Exposure to Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes environments is highly preferred, but the core requirement is strong real-world Apigee development experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain API proxies using Apigee
  • Implement and configure Apigee policies for:
    • Security
    • Traffic management
    • Transformation
    • Routing
    • Error handling
    • Authentication and authorization
  • Build and maintain reusable shared flows and flow hooks
  • Configure and troubleshoot OAuth 2.0, JWT, API key validation, and related security mechanisms
  • Optimize API proxy performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Support API lifecycle management across development, QA, and production environments
  • Troubleshoot API issues using Apigee Trace and logging/debugging tools
  • Collaborate with backend application teams and cloud/platform engineering teams
  • Participate in CI/CD automation and deployment processes
  • Ensure API implementations follow enterprise standards and best practices

Requirements
Technical skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Apigee API development
  • Experience building and deploying API proxies in enterprise environments
