Donated Goods Specialist

LOCATION: Kingston Pike

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time/Exempt/Regular

ANNUALSALARY: $55,000

Goodwill Industries--Knoxville, Inc. is seeking full-time Donated Goods Specialist for our corporate office. Ideal candidates will be energetic, confident, have excellent negotiation skills, understands how to build business relationships, strategically driven and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of the donation acquisition strategy, including identifying and securing new partnerships, implementing partnership initiatives, and forecasting future donation needs to support the overall Donated Goods Retail (DGR) growth strategy. Aggressively expand the donor base and drive a sustained increase in material donations across all channels while increasing salvage revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in site selection & procurement of donations within Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. territory,
  • Pursues various avenues for obtaining donated goods including partnering with various companies.
  • Forecast future donation needs to support the overall Donated Goods Retail (DGR) growth strategy.
  • Design and manage a supplemental donated goods procurement model to meet inventory needs at Retail Stores, ensuring gaps in product type or volume are effectively filled through strategic purchasing.
  • Stays abreast of best practices of other Goodwill’s as to donation acquisition and operation.
  • Through networking, identifies, initiates and cultivates relationships with potential property owners and other organizations to promote Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. for donation centers, drives, and other donations campaigns.
  • Assist in development strategies for the implementation of new donation centers and other means of acquiring donations.
