Floor Care Technician
Department: Contracts
Work Location: Stratcom - Building 1000
Employment Status: Part Time
Pay Range: $19.75

JOB SUMMARY
The Floor Care Technician is responsible for periodic floor care treatments of assigned areas within federal contract. The Floor Care Technician is responsible for transporting Goodwill staff and carpet and hard floor care equipment using Goodwill vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clean and maintain floors in accordance with contract standards
  • Assist with periodic cleaning of facilities
  • Strip, scrub, seal and wax hard floors as necessary to maintain a uniform appearance without streaks, swirl marks, detergent residue, or any evidence of soil, stain, film, or standing water.
  • Sweep, auto scrub, damp mop, dry or spray buffer floors.
  • Buff floors in between periodic hard floor treatments to maintain the life of the hard floor care treatment.
  • Clean carpets in order to remove embedded soil from carpet fibers.
  • Remove cleaning solutions from baseboards, furniture, trash receptacles, chairs, and other similar items after service is completed.
  • Observe proper safety precautions in use of equipment and supplies. Ensure for the care and longevity of the floor care equipment. Report when floor care equipment is broken.
  • Keep record of supply usage and notify supervisor when a supply order needs to be placed.
  • Drive the Goodwill vehicles to and from designated locations in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure Goodwill vehicles are kept clean and safe at all times.
  • Drive with courtesy to others and positively represent Goodwill to the public.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation guidelines and Goodwill policies amp; procedures.
  • Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Six months floor care experience preferred
  • Driver’s License required
  • Must be insurable

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and be insurable

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must be able to work effectively in a secure, confidential area
  • Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals, utilizing proper personal protective equipment, in a safe manner.
  • Must be able to operate Auto scrubbers, low speed scrubbers, floor buffers, carpet extractors and be knowledgeable in floor stripping processes.
  • Maintain a good driving record that meets our Insurance Company’s Guidelines
