Part-Time Retail Manager
Lincoln Stars | Face-Off Sports Store | United States Hockey League
Position Summary
The Lincoln Stars are seeking a highly organized, energetic, and customer-focused Part-Time Retail Manager to oversee the operations of the Face-Off Sports Store.
This position is responsible for inventory management, merchandise displays, point-of-sale operations, retail staffing, online order fulfillment, and customer service. The Retail Manager will help maximize merchandise sales while ensuring the store provides an organized, welcoming, and engaging shopping experience for Lincoln Stars fans.
The ideal candidate has retail or customer-service experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead staff in a fast-paced environment. This is a part-time position requiring availability during Lincoln Stars home games, along with additional hours for inventory management, order fulfillment, store preparation, and special events.
Key Responsibilities
Face-Off Sports Store Operations
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Lincoln Stars Face-Off Sports Store.
  • Open and close the store according to established procedures.
  • Track inventory levels, product movement, sales trends, and restocking needs.
  • Receive, organize, label, price, and store incoming merchandise.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with merchandise ordering, product selection, pricing, and seasonal planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership on new merchandise concepts, product launches, jersey releases, and retail promotions.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing merchandise displays that align with Lincoln Stars brand standards.
  • Coordinate store signage, promotions, discounts, and featured product displays.
  • Manage point-of-sale operations and ensure accurate cash-handling and transaction procedures.
  • Assist with online order fulfillment, merchandise pickups, shipping, returns, exchanges, and special orders.
  • Monitor product performance and recommend opportunities to increase merchandise sales.
  • Support retail operations at select community appearances, tournaments, and special events as assigned.

Retail Staff Management
  • Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise part-time Face-Off Sports Store employees.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels for Lincoln Stars home games and other assigned events.
  • Clearly communicate employee expectations, responsibilities, policies, and customer-service standards.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and direction as needed.
  • Assist with employee timekeeping, availability tracking, and schedule changes.
  • Create a positive, team-oriented retail environment focused on accountability, professionalism, and fan service.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in retail, merchandising, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory, staff-training, or scheduling experience preferred.
  • Experience with point-of-sale and inventory-management systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Comfortable providing direction and feedback to part-time employees.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with organizational leadership and other departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and professional when addressing customer or operational concerns.
