JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the Human Resources Assistant is the day-to-day administration of company policies and procedures for recruiting, onboarding, employee files and databases, benefits, personnel policies, and safety programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome new employees to the organization by meeting for onboarding paperwork, sending offer letters out, and conducting new hire orientation.
- Keep employee records up to date in HRIS by processing employee changes promptly.
- Maintain hard-copy and electronic personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Answer employee questions and address employee concerns.
- Distribute performance reviews and ensure company compensation policies and grading structure are being followed.
- Responsible for I-9 file maintenance and compliance.
- Complete employment verifications amp; inquiries.
- Manage tuition reimbursement process.
- Respond to unemployment claims and represent Goodwill in appeal hearings.
- Compile required HR reports.
- Assist agency recruiting functions to include job postings, screening applicants, assisting managers through the hiring process, managing pre-employment processes, posting internal openings, attending job fairs, and interviewing as requested.
- Crosstrain into other areas of HR to serve as a backup for other Human Resource Team Members.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
- One year of Human Resources experience preferred
- One to two years of administrative support experience preferred
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

- First Aid amp; CPR certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sedentary
Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
