What You'll Do:
The Box Truck Driver/Material Handler is responsible for safe and efficient transportation, loading, unloading, and handling of donated goods to and from retail stores, donation centers, and warehouses. This role plays a key part in supporting daily logistics and inventory movement for a mission-driven retail operation.
Job Type: Full-time, Hourly
Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour
Shift:
  • 8-hour shift, scheduled for 40-hours per week
  • Flexible schedule; availability for mornings, evenings, and weekends
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate box truck to transport donated goods between donation centers, retail stores, warehouses, and recycling partners.
  • Load and unload goods using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or by hand as required.
  • Ensure proper securing of cargo and adherence to weight limits.
  • Inspect vehicles before and after use to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance issues.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the warehouse and loading docks.
  • Follow scheduled routes and maintain communication with dispatch and retail locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, and any incidents.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service when interacting with donors, store staff, and the public.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and DOT standards.
What You'll Bring:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record and For Hire (or Chauffeur's) endorsement
  • Experience driving box trucks (16-26 ft.) and handling materials
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. repeatedly and work in all weather conditions
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of local area, equipment, and material handling techniques
  • Professional, dependable, and safety-conscious work ethic
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • DOT physical clearance and ability to pass background, drug, and alcohol screenings
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Neat appearance with steel toe boots worn at all times
Preferred:
  • Experience in retail, warehouse, or nonprofit operations.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
