Department: Retail Operations
The Store Manager is directly responsible for the operations of a Goodwill retail store in accordance with Goodwill policies and procedures in support of the Goodwill Mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve or exceed budgeted sales goals by maintaining appropriate expense to revenue ratios, adjusting staff, and controlling company assets
- Create and implement timely store sales events to achieve additional revenue
- Foster a positive store atmosphere in support of employees, customers and participants
- Achieve or exceed production goals monthly/annually by processing donations within 24 hours of receipt
- Effectively recruit, hire, develop, supervise, schedule and evaluate store personnel; supervise volunteers
- Support Mission-related programs in the retail store
- Responsible for controlling company assets and funds
- Create a positive public image of Goodwill through a clean store environment, attractive displays, and presentable and personable sales and management staff
- Maintain a safe working/shopping environment. Investigate and document all accidents/injuries/incidents
- Ensure customers are treated in a fair, courteous and efficient manner
- Oversee and ensure compliance of store salvaging
- Complete required paperwork accurately, neatly and submit within established timeframe
- Collaborate with Loss Prevention to ensure an effective and proactive LP program is in place
- Maintain merchandising guidelines through colorization and classification of store inventory
- Promote diversity in the work place through hiring practices and assistance from the Human Resources Department
- Meet or exceed the attendance expectations for this position
- Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants
- Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma required
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred
- One (1) year’s retail sales experience is required, two (2) or more years is preferred
- One (1) year’s supervisory experience in a retail setting is required, two (2) or more years is preferred

- Must have good marketing and merchandising ability.
