Job description

Kenton County Golf Course, located in Independence, KY, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Guest Service Attendant! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Role Type:
Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)
General Purpose:
This position will create positive experiences at Kenton County Golf Course by assisting guests and members with outside services. The Guest Service Attendant is an all-around position that assists in many departments of the golf operations. The day-to-day duties will vary depending on the business level of the day, what needs to be done, and what other parts of the golf operations need additional assistance. Individuals should have the ability to work in a fun and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and cleans golf carts for play following the standards of Kenton County Golf Course
  • Performs range maintenance, including setting up and maintaining range and chipping green presentation, maintaining range ball inventory, picking up range balls, and cleaning them
  • Maintains the cart staging area in a neat and orderly fashion, including the podium and bag drop area
  • Provides sincere and courteous service to all guests with items such as bag handling and club cleaning
  • Maintains the cart storage area and cart washdown area in a neat, clean, and orderly condition
  • May direct the start of play, which includes assisting in educating players regarding course policy, current cart policy, speed of play, and similar guidelines
  • Cleans golfers' clubs upon completion of play
  • Completes daily project list
  • Assists in the setup and execution of golf tournaments and outings
  • Services customers renting golf clubs and cleans rental clubs upon return; maintains accurate records of golfers renting clubs
  • Assists with the overall upkeep of the clubhouse, cart storage area, and parking lot
  • Assists with food and beverage activities
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as required

Education and Experience:
Less than high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates/Licenses:
Valid driver's license.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, or hears
  • Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches
  • Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Occasionally works in areas with moving mechanical parts; may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles, or toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions
