Job description

Everline Resort & Spa has multiple lines of business including but not limited to Resort Operations, Property Management, HOA management and Property Development. The Staff Accountant is expected to audit daily transactions related to the Point of Sale systems postings and documents for accuracy and prepare a daily distribution of reports. During the course of the month, the staff accountant will be in charge of generating statements for our HOA members and sending out payments to our Property Management clients. This position is is responsible for primarily providing accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.

Customer Service:

  • Respond to inquiries from our owners, guests, clients and vendor.

Point of Sales Systems:

  • Audit all point of sale systems daily for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify allowances and miscellaneous postings/ adjustments for proper authorization and coding
  • Investigate discrepancies and develop procedures to eliminate them
  • Print, verify accuracy and distribute daily revenue reports
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Communicate with outlets about questions or problems with regard to posting that have an effect on the creation of the sales journals

Property Management / HOA Systems:

  • Record payments
  • Provide shared service and amenity backup and documentation to HOA
  • Issue owner statements
  • Respond to the owners inquiries in a timely manner
  • Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements
  • Follow-up and resolve past due accounts
  • Complete period-end closing procedures and reports
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of property management and point of sale systems.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School graduate or general education degree (GED)
  • College level accounting classes is preferred
  • Accounting degree a plus
  • Hospitality experience a plus
  • Two years of accounting or related field experience.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor working environment and the noise level in the workplace is usually low.
  • Typical equipment used include but are not limited to computers, POS systems, handheld devices, phones and household cleaning supplies.
