Position Overview:
As an Industrial Electrician Technician, you play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of high-speed industrial equipment within the aluminum can manufacturing process. Your responsibilities encompass the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including PLCs and automation controls. By adhering to safety standards such as NFPA 70E and collaborating across teams, you contribute to minimizing downtime, enhancing production efficiencty, and supporting continuous operational excellence.
Our crews work 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) working a rotating 2-3-2 schedule. Schedules will rotate from day to night shift every 4 weeks.
Competencies:
  • Electrical Expertise: proficient in maintaining and repairing industrial electrical equipment
  • Complex Troubleshooting: skilled in diagnosis and resolving intricate electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance
  • Maintenance Planning: capable of organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating maintenance tasks to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency
  • Effective Communication: clearly conveys information across teams and shifts to ensure seamless operations
  • Attention to Detail: identifies inefficiencies and potential electrical issues, proposing improvements
  • Safety Awareness: strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including NFPA 70E standards
  • Collaboration Approach: fosters a cooperative work environment, working well with other across various functions and crews
  • Training Support: engages in mentoring and on-the-job training (OJT) initiatives to support team development

Skills:
  • Advanced mechanical troubleshooting, proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues in electrical systems ranging from 24V to 600V
  • PLC programing and diagnostics (Rockwell preferred), to ensure seamless automation and control of production equipment
  • Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Installation of electrical components such as conduit, wire sizing, and pulling
  • Maintenance of VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), transducers, and proximity sensors
  • Quality Camera Control Adjustments, knowledgeable in configuring and adjusting industrial inspections cameras used for quality control
  • Use of diagnostic tools for field measurements and control software

Accountabilities:
  • Electrical System Maintenance and Repair, install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems (24V-600V), including motors, VFDs, sensors and control panels
  • PLC and Automation Support, program and troubleshoot PLCs (preferably Rockwell), ensuring seamless integration with production equipment
  • Equipment Installation and Upgrades, execute electrical installations and system enhancements to improve equipment efficiency and reliability
  • Safety Compliance, adhere to NFPA 70E standards and company safety protocols, implementing corrective action as needed
  • Technical Documentation, maintain accurate records, including wiring schematics (paper and AutoCAD) and daily log entries
  • Collaboration and Communication, work effectively across shifts and departments, ensuring clear communication regarding electrical issues and resolutions
  • Training and Development, participate in on-the-job training (OJT) programs, supporting the skill development of production and maintenance teams

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:
  • May be subject to all of the following, but not limited to:
  • Hot/Cold working conditions.
  • Loud /Noisy environment.
  • Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Climbing (stairs, and other equipment as necessary).

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 4+ years in industrial electrical maintenance
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • General Electricla Journeyman, Electrical Plant Journeyman, or Supervising Electrician license.
  • Relevant Technical Qualification (Electrical Technology or a related field; Familiarly with NFPA 70E standards)
  • Computers skills

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Rate $51.08/hr
