Job description

Overview

An Assistant General Manager with Firebirds partners with the General Manager and Executive Chef to provide leadership, direction, and training to team members by coaching, counseling, and providing feedback on job performance. The AGM plays a key role in daily restaurant operations, ensuring that service, quality, and hospitality standards are consistently met. In addition to supervising restaurant managers and hourly team members, the AGM acts as second-in-command, helping drive financial performance, maintain brand standards, and foster a culture of excellence.


Responsibilities

What we expect of you:

  • Provides direct support to the General Manager in all areas of responsibility and serves as acting GM in their absence
  • Leads, develops, and motivates management and hourly team members to ensure excellence in execution and guest satisfaction
  • Partners with the Executive Chef to oversee all food and beverage operations for the restaurant and FIREBAR®
  • Ensures adherence to company policies, safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
  • Assists in forecasting, budgeting, and controlling costs, including food, beverage, and labor
  • Analyzes financial reports and operational metrics to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
  • Provides direction and training to managers and team members by coaching, counseling, and giving performance feedback
  • Accountable for ordering produce, seafood, main food orders, and/or wine, liquor, and beer
  • Conducts bi-weekly inventory in collaboration with the management team
  • Oversees scheduling to maintain proper staffing levels while meeting labor goals
  • Leads recruitment, interviewing, and hiring efforts to maintain strong staffing levels and build bench strength
  • Maintains a positive, team-focused environment that sets expectations for service, quality food, and beverages in a neat, clean, and organized restaurant
  • Partners with the GM to drive community involvement, local store marketing, and guest engagement initiatives

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 4 years high volume, full service restaurant experience in a management position
  • Warm, passionate, and committed to the industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm, cool, and collected under pressure
  • Self-Actualized and motivated
  • Self-discipline; maintained professional appearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language of the work location
  • Reach, bend, push & pull items for up to 10 hours each day
  • Able to use fingers, hands, arms and shoulders repetitively for up to 6 hours each day
  • Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for multiple hours in length
  • Must have a sense of balance, able to bend, kneel and lift items frequently weighing up to 35 pounds
