Assistant General Manager - Woodlake Market
Work Mode: Onsite
Location:Onsite - Kohler, Wisconsin
This is a full-time position at Woodlake Market. Shifts will vary on weekdays and weekends varying between 5:00 am and 9:00 pm CST.
Opportunity
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) provides strategic andoperational leadership over the "Experiential Core" of WoodlakeMarket. This role is responsible for the performance of the high-complexityF&B departments that constitute 60% of the Market's business footprint. TheAGM serves as the primary culinary-business partner to the General Manager,overseeing a specialized team to ensure brand consistency, financial health,and the delivery of unforgettable guest experiences. Through noteworthyhospitality and disciplined operational management, the AGM acts as number two to the General Manager, ensuring leadership continuity for KohlerHospitality's flagship retail food destination.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Financial Discipline
  • Maintaindisciplined oversight of daily operations within the Café, Pizza, Deli, andSpecialty Meat/Cheese departments to ensure premium execution.
  • Drivefinancial accountability by managing labor planning, COGS, and waste control;analyze menu mix and yields to maximize margins in high-volume F&B sectors.
  • Ensure allpublic and service areas reflect Kohler's noteworthy standards of presentation,cleanliness, and safety.
  • Directlymanage the recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for the F&Bleadership team, fostering a culture of accountability and professionalexcellence.

2. Culinary Strategy & Innovation
  • Partnerwith the Junior Sous Chef to lead the innovative development of seasonalfeatures, "scratch-made" prepared foods, and experiential guestofferings.
  • Overseethe expansion and sustained growth of the Building 83 Café, ensuring that theoperational flow adapts to doubling sales volumes and shifting campus demand.
  • Lead theexecution of F&B activations, including tastings, demonstrations, andholiday programs, to deliver a genuine and interactive "food-forward"experience.
  • Supportmenu engineering and recipe costing to ensure culinary creativity is balancedwith financial sustainability.

3. Guest Experience & Team Empowerment
  • Champion aguest-first culture where associates are empowered to provide immediate servicerecovery and noteworthy hospitality.
  • Modelgenuine interactions with guests and team members, serving as a culturalambassador for the Kohler Hospitality DESIGN model.
  • Coordinatewith the GM and campus partners to revitalize and scale catering services,ensuring off-site experiences meet the high standards of Destination Kohler.
  • Provideconsistent coaching and mentorship to department supervisors, creating cleardevelopment pathways and strengthening the leadership bench.

Skills/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3+ years of progressive management experience in a high-volume grocery store, modern food hall, or hospitality-focused restaurant environment.
  • Proven track record of success in operations that blend high-transaction retail with premium, service-intensive F&B.
  • Demonstrated expertise in disciplined financial management, including P&L responsibility, labor optimization, and inventory control.
  • Experience leading and empowering multi-disciplinary teams through periods of growth, facility expansion, or operational change.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering genuine, noteworthy hospitality that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Must be 18 years or older and possess (or be able to obtain) ServSafe Manager Certification for continued employment.
