Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate physical security, emergency operations centers, or military operations required
  • Minimum of 2 years leading multi-site security operations required

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional security certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or equivalent experience preferred

Working Conditions

  • Operates within a 24/7 Global Security Operations Center environment supporting global business operations
  • Required to work a rotating schedule across shifts (day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays) to ensure leadership coverage, maintain situational awareness, and support critical incidents
  • Must maintain on-call availability to respond to escalations and high-priority incidents
  • May require occasional travel in support of global security initiatives

About the role:

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and continuous enhancement of GM Financials' GSOC capabilities. This role ensures the effective delivery of global monitoring, incident response, intelligence coordination, and security operations in support of enterprise risk management, business continuity, and employee safety.

The GSOC Manager leads a high-performing team responsible for 24/7 monitoring of security systems, real-time incident management, and coordination across internal stakeholders and external partners. The position plays a critical role in advancing operational excellence, strengthening the organization's global security posture, and aligning GSOC services with enterprise priorities.

In this role you will:

  • Provide leadership and direction for GSOC operations, ensuring consistent, high-quality monitoring and response across all shifts
  • Oversee the departmental use of security technologies, including CCTV systems, access control, intrusion detection, and fire/life safety systems
  • Ensure standardized execution of incident response protocols, escalation procedures, and reporting requirements
  • Maintain operational readiness to respond to global incidents, including emergency events, safety concerns, and business disruptions
  • Direct GSOC response to security incidents, threats, and emergencies, ensuring timely coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ensure effective monitoring and response across a wide range of incident types, including life safety events and facility-related disruptions 
  • Oversee the documentation, reporting, and post-incident analysis to support continuous improvement and risk mitigation efforts
  • Support real-time decision-making and provide timely updates to leadership during critical incidents
  • Continuously develop and implement GSOC strategies to enhance monitoring capabilities, operational resilience, and service delivery
  • Identify opportunities to modernize technology platforms and optimize operational workflows
  • Drive alignment between GSOC operations and enterprise security strategy, including risk management and compliance initiatives
  • Support the expansion of GSOC capabilities, including integration of new systems and services
  • Lead, mentor, and develop GSOC personnel, including analysts, specialists, and operators
  • Establish training programs and performance standards to ensure a highly capable and consistent workforce
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure appropriate staffing models to support operational demands and future growth
  • Oversee integration of real-time intelligence into GSOC operations to enhance situational awareness and proactive risk identification
  • Support business continuity efforts by ensuring operational resilience during incidents such as weather events or system outages, or other disruptions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Physical Security, Investigations, Global Facilities, Legal, HR) to deliver coordinated risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess GSOC effectiveness and drive data-informed decision making
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to Global Security leadership
  • Promote standardized documentation and audit readiness across GSOC functions
