Bedrock focuses on the core principle of CARING PROFESSIONALS PROVIDING COMPASSIONATE AND EXPERT CARE. This is the foundation… or BEDROCK… that our hospital is built on! We are looking for caring professionals to serve our clients, referring veterinary practices, and to be a part of one of the best teams in the region! Our CSR team will have a range of duties including greeting clients in house and on the phone, setting up referrals, facilitating check in and check out for clients, and advocating for the needs of our clients, referring veterinarians, and team! Your Impact as a Credentialed Surgery Veterinary Technician

Note: The Credentialed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state's Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

  • Lead Anesthesia and Patient Monitoring: You'll induce, maintain, and monitor patients under general anesthesia, continuously assessing vital parameters and adjusting anesthetic depth as needed—recognizing changes in patient status and escalating concerns to the surgeon promptly.
  • Ensure Precise Drug Calculation and Administration: You'll accurately calculate, prepare, and administer anesthetic agents, analgesics, emergency drugs, and other medications, ensuring precise dosing tailored to each patient.
  • Master Surgical Assisting and Sterile Technique: You'll assist surgeons during procedures, maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques, manage instruments, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout each case.
  • Perform Phlebotomy and Diagnostics: You'll perform venipuncture and collect samples for laboratory analysis, place IV catheters, take radiographs, and assist with the interpretation and documentation of diagnostic findings.
  • Provide Post-Operative and Critical Care: You'll manage patient recovery, monitor for post-surgical complications, administer pain management protocols, and provide attentive, compassionate care to patients who may be critically ill or in pain.
  • Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll discharge patients, review post-surgical treatment plans, incision care, and follow-up instructions with clients, and support client service operations as needed.
  • Drive Operational Excellence and Mentorship: You'll accurately maintain medical records, prescriptions, and controlled drug logs using our computer systems, ensure surgical readiness between procedures, and help train and mentor veterinary assistants and new teammates.
What You'll Bring to the Team
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • A current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
  • Experience in anesthesia, surgical nursing, or a specialty/referral environment is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, drug calculation, phlebotomy, and IV catheter placement.
  • A calm and efficent approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
