Role: Web Application Firewall (WAF) Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Employment Type: 12 Months Contract

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking an experienced Web Application Firewall (WAF) Engineer to secure enterprise web applications by designing, implementing, and managing WAF solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in application security, WAF policy management, threat mitigation, and network security technologies.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in Cybersecurity or Network Security
  • Hands-on experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF) such as F5 ASM/AWAF, Imperva, Akamai, Cloudflare, or AWS WAF
  • Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and web application security
  • Experience creating and tuning WAF policies and security rules
  • Knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, and Load Balancers
  • Experience analyzing security logs and mitigating web-based attacks (SQL Injection, XSS, CSRF, DDoS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar
  • Experience with scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Web Application Firewall solutions
